Thread: Patton $ Online

A discussion about what your dollars get you.

Welcome! You are invited to wander around and read all of the comments that have been posted here at Patton & Co., but as soon as you register you can see the bid limits that Alex, Peter and Mike propose for each player, and you can post your own comments. Registering is free, so please join us!

Rich now has access. Anyone who has subscribed and doesn't immediately get to the subscriber page should immediately send me a message.

No Rotoman Special this year. His time instead went to producing the Guide. And, of course, he will continue to revise his projections here, not to mention his bids, until April 14, when we post our last update.

Will there be a Rotoman Special Proiections and Prices file for 2022 as in 2021?

Hi Alex. I just sent a follow up email about access. Better to communicate that way then here?

Hi Everybody.

The new release has been uploaded. It does not have the Jake Marisnick and Robert Gsellman news, but it's otherwise up to date, with LABR prices as well as projections and prices for Seiya Suzuki and others.

If you see anything amiss please let us know. With so many changes mlb.com transactions pages was broken, so they're pieced together from many sources.

Maybe add a Captcha check for new accounts?

I'd love it if a few more people chipped in but I'm very happy that a fair number of people think what we have to say is worth reading.

Sounds like there are a lot of burner accounts just reading our comments but not participating. Probably our competition in our leagues who don't want to reveal themselves. Or the touts. It's like how Jeff Passan and others always knew what I was posting on twitter regrading the lockout even though they didn't follow me.

Thanks, Colin. The moral of the story is, every year -- write a comment!

Even on a small site like ours, removing spam accounts could be someone's full time job. So a script takes care of it. It removes hundreds of accounts every month, most of them with .ru email addresses, scripts which find "New Account" pages and create an account with a nonsense name (often first and last names the same nonsense string).

The rules for removing an account were that it be old enough, that it had never made a comment or marked a player as a favorite player.

This was removing some subscribers who read the site but never comment. I believe the code has now been fixed and those users will no longer have to create a new account each year.

Larry, I've renewed your subscription. You should be able to get to the downloads now.

We don't know why this is happening -- just to a few people so far, but obviously it should never happen. If your payment goes through and you don't immediately get into the subscriber area, send me an email directly or post the message here and I'll let you in.

Colin, our programmer, writes, "I don't see any errors in the log and it is working well when I test it. It is an incredibly frustrating thing to diagnose and correct."

But you shouldn't worry about that. Just send me a note.
