With three weeks to go, the AL has a 20-game lead on the NL, 150-130.

Is it luck? Pythagoras says it is. NL has outscored the AL 1289-1277.

I don't think it's luck.

The best battle, by far, is the Giants and Dodgers for the division. Whic makes the next best the Padres and Reds for the second wild card. Baseball-Reference gives the nod to the Reds, probably because the Padres have to play more games against the Giants and Dodgers from here on out.

We once had a team run the table on hitting points.  60 in a 5x5 league.  Nobody's ever done it in pitching.

Eugene Freedman EugeneFreed

Wow!! Great job, Alex. Garcia has been worth every penny of that $31 and then some.

Tim McLeod tlmcleod
Jul 9

Alex to his credit went all in on Waivers for Adolis Garcia, spending 40 percent of his budget on the guy who is on pace to earn $31. There are probably months when the players available on Waivers don't collectively add up to earn $31 of value. There is a reason why Alex's team is just 6 points shy of a perfect 96 points in the 8-category American Dreams League. Needless to say, this is the Roto equivalent of the 1906 Chicago Cubs who went 116-36.

Walter Shapiro WShapiro
Jul 9

American Dream Leaguers will note from the profit leaderboard Alex quotes below that Alex's ADL squad has Mullins, Garcia and Joey Gallo and Yordan Alvarez. Which is why he's in first by a bazillion points.

He didn't do badly on the pitching side either, with Ryu, Lynn, and Gibson. Praise be.
