So he is upset he "only" started 8 of the first 10 games while going 2 for 15 with 9ks in the past few games?? What a dick,  even without all the past drama.  I'm not a Mets fan, but if I were I'd say good riddance, and nice job on that contract restructure.

The starting lineup was zoomed to the players in their hotel and zoom he was gone.

Who would have thought that any news related to Yoenis Cespedes would be boring?

It seems that the Mets have saved themselves well over $10 million. The report today is that if Cespedes is able to play on Opening Day, if he is, he makes a base salary of $11 million. Less, presumably, if he still can't play.

Yoenis Cespedes (OF) NY-N - Dec. 13

https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=736225

Cespedes (ankle) and the Mets agreed to a restructured contract Friday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Cespedes had been scheduled to make $29.5 million this season but will now make significantly less. The outfielder has appeared in just 119 games over the last three seasons combined. He's been hitting and running as he works his way back from multiple ankle fractures, injuries he suffered after taking a fall on his ranch back in May, though his availability for the start of the 2020 season remains in question. Due to the questionable nature of that injury, which occurred as Cespedes was recovering from heel surgery, the Mets were able to file a grievance and save reportedly over $10 million ahead of the 2020 season.
