Tomas is eligible to return from the 60-day disabled list August 3, but it doesn't appear he'll be ready on that date. He had a setback earlier this month with his strained right groin and has not resumed playing in minor league rehab games.
Think he'll join the 10 HR club? :-)

Both his hits yesterday were to right field. Might explain why he's batting .319.

Yasmany Tomas has been diagnosed with a strained oblique following an MRI.

He's a PAN for me. 25% HR/Fly gonna be tough to repeat. .364/.423/.690 vs lefties gonna be tough to repeat as .400+ BABIP won't sustain. HR every 20 AB vs righties gonna be tough to repeat with a 6/1 K/W ratio. The probability of seeing fewer hittable pitches is a another thing to account for. Subpar defense won't keep him in the lineup if his bat struggles.

Slightly above average exit velocity, far above average generated velocity.
Hit .313 but slugged only .485 in September.
Was at his best batting fifth (.329/.380/.624) and batted there more often (173 AB) than anywhere else.
