Another gambit for today's CBS NL:  make sure everyone there knows of the Latino sports reporter's tweet that has Colorado considering Puig and then nominate him.

With ST starting this week, teams can again use the 60-day DL, and free up space on their 40-man's to hand out major league contracts, thus the pickup in free agent activity (and what some of these guys may have been waiting for).

I agree that Miami should be interested.  They have a big Cuban following and can move him at the deadline along with Kintzler...

Naah ... Giants have Dickerson and Yaz at the corners ... Yaz has become a fan favorite, and Dickerson put up a 1 WAR last year in 1/3 of a season for the Giants, they just gave him a mil for 2020, and he's under control for 2 more years.

None of those guys are legit CFs, Puig included.  There's no room at the inn.

My understanding is the Mattingly had his fill of Puig in LA.  The Giants would seem to have the greatest combination of need and deep pockets.

Pittsburgh seems to be a market where personality also matters ... for a team that's still recovering from their All Star pitcher doing some incredibly shady stuff, I'm thinking the Pirates might be looking for someone safer.  Plus that forces Polanco or Reynolds into CF ...

He'd be a nice fit for the Marlins ... sending Anderson back to 3B and Villar to SS and the ".700 OPS in a good year" Rojas to the bench ... and of course adding a Cuban to their marketing. But they aren't going to pay him $9 million.

Toronto, Seattle, and Detroit could use him - but again, I don't see them paying up.

Might just be a matter of Puig and his agent deciding what place is the best location to showcase him for a rebound and taking $4-5 million on a one year at this point.

Might not be a guy that teams that are rebuilding with young players would be keen on adding.

Now the top FA available, but where will he go? If Reynolds could handle CF then maybe Puig signs with the Pirates and plays a corner OF spot?

Well, Puig signed for $42 mil over 7 years before he'd ever played a minor league game.  Then last year the Reds bumped him to $9.7 mil.

They may have predicted him at $8 mil, but I'm sure Puig and his agent haven't been receptive to offers in that ballpark yet.  I suspect he's a 2 WAR player with a 5 WAR ego.
