Did he know he'd been traded when he fought? Hard to know, but I sure wouldn't want him coming after me.

From one Reds reporter on twitter:

Just finished interviewing Yasiel Puig. He told me “I love my teammates” and “I loved Cincinnati.” His bats, glove and cleats were all packed up. Puig ended the interview by shaking every reporter’s hand and thanking us for working with him. Good dude. #Reds

Time to start a new club. No. 20 for Yasiel last night. Missed another by maybe six inches.

The counting stats have kept him fantasy relevant (11 HR, 9 SBs) ... but boy is Puig having a bad season at the plate.  So much so that despite a positive dWAR, he's still below replacement level overall.

They've still got $5 million or so to spend on him this year ... and I imagine he actually draws some fans based on his name recognition ... but if the Red's interest was in winning games or in long term player development they'd probably bring Philip Ervin back up (he's batting .395 with 5 HR in 12 games since being sent back down).

Yasiel Puig (OF) CIN - Mar. 18

Puig had two more homers on Sunday against the Indians, giving him four for spring training. He's hitting .375/.429/.844 in 32 at-bats so far this spring.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The overall line is nice, but the nicer thing to see was that the two homers came against Corey Kluber and Brad Hand. His ADP continues to rise, as he went as high as 48th overall in last weekend's NFBC Main Event drafts.

SOMEONE loves him a lot more than the Three Amigos.

Is it the ballpark?

$30 in CBS.  Figure on there being SOMEONE in your league who likes him more than you ...

Will play for the Reds this year for $9.7 million. A nice raise over his seven-year average salary of $6 million with the Dodgers.

He's a free agent next season.

It's a very small sample size (and most likely against inferior pitching at that) but in his 59 AB in Great American Ballpark he's hit four homers.

I own both Puig and Verdugo in the PCL at keeper-ish prices. Fingers crossed, but I think I just got a double win on this one.
