Now 2 wins and 0 losses for the O's ... just sayin!

Hey, I'm an NL-only guy ... but today's Ray's/O's and A's/Angels games were intense/fantastic!

You know what else stands out? That LD%. Being curious, I went through (lowering IP min to 150) last year's numbers to see who had a LD% of 23 or higher. The answer? Not many:

(NL) Chris Carpenter: 47/24/29
(NL) J.A. Happ: 33/23/44
(NL) Edwin Jackson: 44/25/31
(NL) Ricky Nolasco: 45/24/31
(AL) Alexi Ogando: 36/24/40
(AL) C.C. Sabathia: 47/23/30

Not that that observation has much to do with what you stated, Alex. But if nothing else, this was a "today I learned."

BTW, all of those above pitchers (including Wolf) had a slightly higher H% last year than their previous three years (Happ was an exception, but not by much). If it's true that roughly 70% of line drives fall in for a hit, then I'd say their elevated LD% and H% matched up well.

Only five pitchers in the NL last year were more extreme flyball pitchers (minimum 162 IP) and only five induced more double-play grounders.

How'd he do that?
