That isn't the best video, but it does seem that Desmond was going to be safe by a fair margin. Sadly, I was still at work, so I didn't see the play live -- but presumably it was Posey calling for Bumgarner to go to third?

As I watch the play over and over again at Baseball Prospectus (NLDS Game Three Recap: The Bunt Heard 'Round the World), I realize that the bunt was in fact still on, even with two strikes. Desmond gets a great jump; he's ready for it. And Bumgarner shows absolutely no hesitation as he goes for the ball.

Even so, it doesn't look like he would have gotten Desmond with a good throw.

A pretty good bunt he laid down, considering there were two strikes and Ramos hadn't attempted a sac bunt since April of 2011.

He says he was (once again) given the sign to bunt. Is that true?

It can't be true.

Hammate bone broken, same one Sandoval had on each hand. Out 4-5 weeks.

Mixed reports coming out about the injury.

Ramos has told some friends that it's broken. Lynch reports the official line below. Others are commenting that it's a hamate bone injury.

None of it sounds good. He is in PCL auction and with the injury will probably not be frozen in my home league either.

After Cashner's stellar outing last night, between Ramos and Henderson this wasn't what I was hoping for in Tout Wars.

The roller coaster is the best part of this game though.

rotoworld is saying this ...

Nationals manager Matt Williams said that X-Rays on Wilson Ramos' left hand came back negative.

James Wagner of the Washington Post heard from a source that Ramos suffered a broken bone in his left hand during Monday's game, but that report appears to be premature. The 26-year-old will get a second opinion from a specialist before the next step is decided, so the Nationals will cross their fingers for now.

Left the game today with an apparent injury, and the reports are he has a broken bone in his hand.

Tough news for the Nats and his owners.
