Verlander pitching a no hitter with one baserunner allowed in a 2-0 game is why. He had a .666 WPA in it. Gerrit Cole in his 8 Inning 1 run 1 baserunner outing in a 21-1 had a WPA of just .147 bc once the score got to 9-0 in the 3rd the Win probability for the Astros had already reached 100%.

Quite a change in two weeks, no? What's that all about?

Re Texpope's recent post under Harper, how does Harper rate third among all hitters in both leagues?

Only two of the ten play in the AL.

You think the Brewers wished they still had him?  He'd look good on a number of contenders at this point.

The 4x4 bid, at least, has to go up a few ticks in the last update (this Thursday).

Will Smith (P) SF - Apr. 1

Smith got the save against the Dodgers on Monday, striking out two and walking one in a scoreless ninth inning to close out the Giants' 4-2 victory.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Smith is now 2-for-2 in save opportunities to start the season and hasn't given up a run in either of his appearances. He's currently locked in as the go-to ninth inning option for the Giants, and has converted 15 of 19 save chances dating back to when he first claimed the rule partway through last season.

Any word whether his 0 ERA earned him the closers gig?
