Rotowire:
Franco was on the shelf for just under a month with a left quad strain, but the 21-year-old looks ready to go after recently wrapping up a five-gam rehab assignment in the minors. He'll immediately slot back in as Tampa Bay's everyday shortstop, leaving Taylor Walls and Vidal Brujan to vie for playing time at the keystone.
Who wouldn't want to be at PNC this weekend to watch the shortstops?
Rotoworld:
will receive a day off on Tuesday to rest and recover before playing
shortstop for Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The
21-year-old franchise cornerstone, who is rehabbing from a right quad
strain, will be re-evaluated after that and could rejoin the Rays for
this weekend's series against a rapidly-improving Pirates' squad.)

In my second league I have an IL to be lusted over. Unfortunately, it has ended my season early. I'm in the process of trying to acquire keepers for the few healthy guys I have right now.

I've had years in which I've been hit with injuries before, but nothing like this.

He's not going to win the batting crown but he just got his second knock tonight to raise his average back up to .266. The over/under on .300?
I'd take the over.

It's a strange thing to skip over Ichiro like that, but I guess he is making a point.

Wouldn't it be great if Bowden turns out to be not optimistic enough with this forecast?
I haven’t seen a hit tool like Franco’s since Wade Boggs and the late Tony Gwynn. Franco has such amazing hand-eye coordination, he can manipulate the bat like it’s a tennis racket. The Rays did an incredible job in signing him to an 11-year, $182 million deal this winter. I believe that contract will turn out to be extremely club-friendly, and Franco will repay the Rays by winning Silver Slugger awards, batting championships and even an MVP award in this decade.

They essentially agree, although the Forecaster tilts one way, Statcast the other way in relation to what Wander actually did.
The Forecaster in essence makes a very rosy forecast with this observation:
"Monthly BAs from call-up through Sept: .194, .256, .313, .340."
