Rotoworld:
08.04: Tyler O'Neill hit a go-ahead, three-run homer in the seventh as the Cardinals beat the Cubs 7-2 in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader. (That's
a doubleheader sweep for St. Louis. O'Neill's homer was his sixth of
the year. He's hitting .200 with two homers and eight RBI in 12 games
since returning from his last IL stint. That's not great, but he's still
played quite a bit better when healthy the last two months than he did
early on this year.)

Rotoworld:
06.20: Cardinals placed OF Tyler O'Neill on the 10-day injured list witha left hamstring strain. (O'Neill tweaked his hamstring during the ninth inning of Sunday's game and is headed back to the IL just a couple weeks after returning from it. It's not clear at this point how long he'll be out. O'Neill had hit .354/.385/.521 in 13 games since being activated, so the timing is a bummer especially with the Cards set to begin a series versus the Brewers.)

Rotoworld:
06.11: Tyler O'Neill went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles in Friday's win over the Reds. (O'Neill hit a ground ball to Brandon Drury in the bottom of the first and
because of a throwing error by Drury, the ground ball knocked in Nolan
Arenado and allowed O'Neill to reach first base. The outfielder is
6-for-17 (.353) with a home run since returning from the injured list. )

06.05: Tyler O'Neill (shoulder) went 2-for-4 with a solo homer Saturday in aminor league rehab game for Triple-A Memphis. (O'Neill launched a tape-measure solo shot in the ninth inning Saturday evening to cap off a two-hit effort for the Redbirds. Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol indicated Saturday that the slugging outfielder won't be ready to return from the injured list until later next week.)

Rotoworld:
5.30: Tyler O'Neill (shoulder) resumed baseball activities Monday.(O'Neill received a cortisone shot Friday and is already back working out with some light conditioning prior to Monday's game against the Padres. It sounds like he's close to heading out on a minor league rehab assignment later this week.)

Why so late?
Rotoworld:
05.11: Tyler O'Neill lost his arbitration case against the Cardinals, perMLB.com's Mark Feinsand. (So that means O'Neill is due a $3.4 million salary for 2022, rather than the $4.15 million figure he requested when arbitration figures were exchanged in March.

Sometimes the Statcast stats tell the story and sometimes they don't. Here they definitely do. When your barrel rate just to name one, jumps ten percentage points, you are hitting the ball a wee bit better.
Hitting the ball to all fields seems to have played a big part.
Peter, Mike and I all whiffed on our bids. What we're they? I'm not saying. But if you really want to know, click on the 2021 archive.
