And then O'Neill came up to lead off the 10th, with Goldschmidt on 2B, and struck out ... dropping the Cards win probability from 66% to 55%.

Nonetheless, a great season.  Have him at $6 going into his contract season next spring ... will be a tough debate between $11 and $16 for his extension, given his K rate.  Healthy all 2022, I could see him earning $30+ ... or I could see him earning $10.

Tyler O'Neill (OF) STL - Aug. 19

O'Neill went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run, an additional run and a walk in an 8-4 victory against the Brewers on Thursday.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: O'Neill walked in the first, nailed a go-ahead 450-foot long ball in the fifth off Milwaukee starter Brandon Woodruff and singled and scored in the seventh for St. Louis' eighth and final run. A hot August featuring a .327 average has elevated O'Neill to a team-leading .274/.342/.518 slash line.

Rotoworld:

08.10: Tyler O'Neill is experiencing symptoms from his second COVID-19vaccination shot, per Cardinals manager Mike Shildt. (That's the reason he was scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday night's series opener in Pittsburgh. O'Neill should be ready to rock after a day or two of rest.)

My comment after the CBS NL Auction:

"I could see him turning into 2021's Pete Alonso still.  I just wasn't ready to bid double digits to see if he would do it on my team."

Wish I had.  Alonso with some SBs thrown in.

Fortunately, I control him in my home league as a $6b ... will be an interesting (and enjoyable) extension decision next year.

Also made a nice running catch for the last out with the tying and winning runs steaming around the bases.

Tyler O'Neill (OF) STL - Jun. 01

https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=782147

O'Neill went 2-for-4 with two singles, a run, stolen base and two strikeouts as the Cardinals beat the Dodgers 3-2 on Tuesday.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: O'Neill singled in the sixth but more impressively led off a tie game in the top of the ninth with a single, steal of second and subsequent run after an Edmundo Sosa single. O'Neill's 12 home runs and five steals are both career highs in only 36 games played and he's one of seven players with at least 5 steals and a .900 OPS this season.

I own him in one of five leagues and expect him to be available in my lower keeper league. I'm excited.

Crushing it ... 1.395 OPS so far this spring ... but moreover only 25% strikeout rate.
