Taylor Trammell, OF, Triple-A Tacoma (Mariners) – After being sent down by the Mariners last week, Trammell is doing everything he can to earn a promotion back to the majors. Trammell went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and five RBIs to lead Triple-A Tacoma to a 7-3 win over Salt Lake on Monday. In five games since he was sent down, Trammell is 14-for-22 with four home runs and 14 RBIs.

Can anybody hit anymore?

On a rainy afternoon I jumped around on MLB watching four different games.

In order of starting time...

Orioles 4, Yankees 3 in 10 innings

A's 3, Rays 2

Cardinals 4 , Phillies 3 in 10 innings

Mariners 1, Astros 0

Trammell was the big story in this last game. Homered in the third, made a sliding run-saving catch for the last out.

But he was far from the only story. Kakuchi allowed one hit and two walks over seven innings. Misciewicz pitched a 1-2-3 eighth, keeping his ERA at zero in 11 games. Graveman collected the save, his third, keeping his ERA at zero  in 9 games. Had the bloop for the last out found the ground, it would have been the third hit he's allowed.

Taylor Trammell, OF, Mariners — Ranked No. 99 on BA's Top 100 Prospects, Trammell has gotten off to a rough start this year. Even so, the 23-year-old showed hints of his gifts on Monday night when he swatted his third home run of the season. He redirected a 99 mph fastball from Dodgers righthander Dustin May for an opposite-field line drive longball at Seattle's home park.

Yeah, upon reflection, I think YOU'RE right, and will let others chase him higher.  The note has already been made on my spreadsheet.

I think you're right, but unless Lewis is as bad as he was last September or Kellenic doesn't get the call I don't see at bats for Trammell all season. And his hit tool is worrisome. I'll take him at the end, but for me he isn't bright or shiny. Just new.

I know we'll see a bid this week from AP . . . I think I'd comfortably pay high single digits.  I don't think $4-6 gets him in any league of decent size.

Surprised he dropped to the reserves in Tout.

Today from BA...

Taylor Trammell, OF, Mariners — Trammell doubled on Monday, giving him his fourth extra-base hit of the spring in just 12 plate appearances. His .909 slugging percentage offers a reminder that it’s not just Jarred Kelenic who is on the precipice of earning a job in Seattle’s outfield.
