Normally your BABIP should go up at least a little when you trade some flyballs for grounders; but not for Marte(must be the effect of me having him this year and the increase in soft contact%). 47 point drop in BABIP on gb from last year.

Same K%, same K/W, same LD%; it seems to be all about the BABIP.

Just launched his 12th HR off a hanging curveball from Jungman in the second inning.

Marte did not hit his 12th HR last year until September 16th.

38.5% HR/FB ratio so far ...

Once that equalizes, given his decreased FB rate this year, you might be lucky to get his career SLG numbers for the rest of the way.

I thought the power would come this year, but not like this.

I will take his career SLG numbers from June on.

LABR is 5x5 ...

28 in CBS ... I think that he's viewed as a safe haven with upside, leading people to go the extra buck or two.  In particular, he batted 1st or 2nd a good chunk of 2014.  This year he'll probably start in the 5 slot, behind some nice OBP guys (McCutcheon, Walker), and could very easily bump his RBIs by 25-30.

Is LABR 4x4?  Marte for $32 seemed very aggressive.
