I can't believe all the people I missed.
But even LVW's team isn't going to win this thing. The team that wins has punted saves.

LVW, that's a strong team. What are your totals? Too lazy to total it up. Arrieta over Kershaw (both 15) and you have Hoffman over my 17 Kluber. Interesting differences. You must edge me in ERA/Ratio and you win saves, while I win Ks and Wins on the pitching side.
Not sure how I missed Kemp's year. I looked at Braun, but forgot Kemp. Damn. NL blindspot strikes again.

I just put a challenge out to my league, which began in 1994. One player per year, but two per franchise. That gives us 26 years and 32 teams to populate 23 roster spots. (Brewers only for their AL period and Astros for their AL period).

Howard Johnson?
I forgot I checked him out at 3B and SS. Just couldn't let Doc's season go. 24 wins, sub 1.00 WHIP, 268 Ks, 1.53 ERA with big innings. There's no other season like it. It's the greatest pitching season of my lifetime. Carlton's 27 win year was two years before I was born. Pedro's season in 2000 was just a touch worse IMO.

Raines tried out for the Tanks as an outfielder. He would have made the team if I had known he qualified at second.
I took Brett over Schmidt in 1980.
No question the Tanks' GM let sentiment cloud his judgement more than a few times. He spent a good hour trying to get Willie Hernandez onto the team. Barry Bonds was allowed into the clubhouse but not Sammy Sosa.
Let's hope when they announce the winner next week, they show all the rosters.
Can you guess who my Met was? Not Doc.

Freedman's Bureau
C Mauer 2009 365 w/ 28 HR; Ivan Rodriguez 1999 35/25 332 116/113 (had also considered a couple Piazza seasons, Victor Martinez 2007, Javy Lopez 2003, a couple of Gary Carter seasons in the 80s).
1B Albert Pujols 2003 .359 43 137/124; Miguel Cabrera 2013 .348 44 103/137 (I love high average high HR) - (Considered McGwire 98, Chris Davis, Ryan Howard, Bagwell)
3B Mike Schmidt 1980 48 104/121 12 SB (originally had Brett 1980, but went with the power, considered a bunch of ARod seasons)
2B Tim Raines 1983 133 Runs and 90 SB (he qualifies) Didn't really consider anyone else, although I considered a few Sandberg, Roberto Alomar seasons, and one from Alfonso Soriano for MI.
SS ARod 96. Hanley Ramirez 07. It's not ARod's best season, but he hit .358 and had 36 HR and 141/123 15 SB. Wanted the extra average and wanted to free up his better years for other players. Hanley .332 29/51 125 Runs (considered Yount 1st MVP, Trammell 87)
OF Eric Davis 87 (I think he had a large report in Alex's first book 37/50 120 Runs) Sosa 01 (.328 64 146/160) Bonds 93 (not his best year .336 46/29 129/123) Larry Walker 97 couldn't avoid it. .366 49/33 143/130 Just crazy. Rickey 86. 87 SB and 28 HR, 130 Runs. (Considered Trout, Canseco 40-40, Gwynn .370 w 56 SB was on my original team)
DH Albert Belle White Sox! 98 .328 49 113/152 went with the HR/RBI with high Avg. I loved Belle. Other better players were blocked, including Griffey b/c of ARod and Manny Ramirez for Pedro.
Pitchers -
Doc 85 24 W 1.53 .97 268 K
Pedro 00 18 1.74 .74 284
Maddux 05 19 1.63 .81 181
Big Unit 02 24 2.32 1.03 334
Kershaw 15 16 2.13 .88 301
Britton 16 2/47 0.54 .84 74
Kluber 17 18 2.25 .87 265
Snell 18 21 1.89 .97 221
Cole 19 20 2.50 .89 326
Considered Verlander 19 and Scott 86, but went with Cole for the Ks over Verlander and the Ratio over Scott. Carlton 1980. Clemens 2002. Eckersley 1990. I think pitching was easier for me. I didn't consider too many choices. Never considered Edwin Diaz b/c I knew I was using ARod, Griffey, or Ichiro from the Mariners.

Already beaten handily by Gene and Eugene's. But it does have the distinction of having 1994 and 1995 (hoping 2020 won't be shorter). Also has more ribbies than runs, as befits an old goat who still plays 4x4.
It was a fun trip down memory lane.
