Rotoworld:

09.24: Shane Bieber was perfect for three innings, striking out three, in his return to the mound on Friday. (Bieber's
velocity was about 1.5 mph less than usual on all of his pitches and
his spin rates were way down, but three perfect innings makes for a nice
return from a nearly 3 1/2-month absence. He figures to make one more
start before the season ends.)

Rotoworld:

09.17: Shane Bieber (shoulder) will make his next minor league rehab start with Double-A Akron on Sunday. (Bieber
began his rehab assignment at Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday where he
surrendered one run on three hits while striking out three over 2 2/3
innings. It's unclear if he'll be deemed ready to rejoin the Indians
rotation after this outing, or if he'll need one more start in the minor
leagues.)

I'm not a skeptic in this case but my fingers are crossed and I'm knocking on wood, paying no attention to the fact that today is Friday the 13th.

I'm sure I have company.

Rotoword:

08.12: Shane Bieber (shoulder) is on track to throw a bullpen session this weekend. (It'll be the first mound work for Bieber since he landed on the IL back in
mid-June because of a right shoulder strain. He could possibly log a
handful of starts down the stretch for Cleveland if all goes smoothly
from here. The 26-year-old right-hander is sitting on a 3.28 ERA and 130
strikeouts in 90 2/3 innings for the season.)

He may be shut down the rest of the season.  Having missed so much time, it would take at least 2-3 weeks of rehab to get back to the Guardians. He hasn't even started.  I guess the good news is that AAA has September games this year, but other than that, it looks pretty bleak.

Shane Bieber (P) CLE - Jul. 16
https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=792058

Bieber (shoulder) has done work with heavy balls but has yet to resume normal throwing, Justice delos Santos of MLB.com reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Bieber has been on the injured list since mid-June with a right shoulder strain. It sounds like he could resume playing catch with a baseball in the near future, but until then, it will be hard to outline a concrete return timeline. Bieber seems unlikely to be activated until the final few days of July at the earliest.

Rotoworld:

06.14... Indians placed RHP Shane Bieber on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder strain.
Spin:
Well, that would help explain Bieber's dip in velocity and struggles
against the Mariners on Sunday. He will be shut down from throwing for
two weeks before being re-evaluated. Obviously, it's a massive blow to
the Indians and to Bieber's fantasy managers, although it's still not
clear how long he might be sidelined. Kyle Nelson has replaced Bieber on
the roster.

Pablo Lopez, Domingo German, Johnny Cueto, Martin Perez, Michael Pineda, Kris Bubic, Bieber... lots of pitchers with very good ERAs at the start of the day had much higher ERAs by the end of it.

Not quite so free with the sticky stuff?

A bit of a metaphor that, in the series of portraits below, Bauer is just a little bit off :-)
