Good to go back and see how it turned out. Reed made $750,000 in '94, and a total of $2.9 M over the rest of his career.

Some interesting info out of the local Sarasota paper today regarding why Scooter didn't sign over the winter/spring. Texpope has made some good points in the past regarding good-but-not-great veterans having a tough time in free agency, and Gemnett is a prime example...
"Gennett details that he did receive some offers, but they were either non-guaranteed or not to his liking from a financial standpoint. The top offer he received was a $1.5MM guarantee with incentives, but he’d been targeting a deal in the $5MM range. "
In retrospect, not such a good call unless you wanna retire at age 30.
