It does. But it seems you can't be on two ballots; he doesn't get a single vote at Multi-Position.

I thought the Fielding Bible also gave awards to multi-positional players based on wanting to recognize Ben Zobrist so many years ago. I'd have thought McMahon would have qualified for that and received votes.

Fourth in the third base voting for the Fielding Bible Award, with no one listing him higher than third and one voter, Bill James, leaving him off his ballot.

McMahon is tied for second in the majors in Defensive Runs saved at third base, and has the the fourth most Defensive Runs Saved at second base -- in half as many games. Add the two together (13+9) and he comes out ahead of Stallings in Total Defensive Runs Saved.

McMahon finishes just ahead of Stallings to top B-R's NL list of dWAR at all positions (Stallings page); it would seem dWAR and DRS are very closely related.

Here's something very interesting, I think, on page 114 of the Handbook.

When McMahon hit a grounder or short line drive and the defense wasn't shifted against him, he hit .204. When the shift was on, he hit .301.

It certainly seems like he made a conscious effort to hit the ball the other way, with great success.

It will be interesting to see the Fielding Bible Awards when the Bill James Handbook comes out. McMahon led all NL players, any position, in dWAR with 2.5. Tommy Edman, voted the Gold Glove at second, gets 0.9.

Ryan McMahon (2B) COL - Apr. 15

https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=771107

McMahon went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Thursday's loss to the Dodgers.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: McMahon lifted a Julio Urias pitch over the fence for his sixth homer of the young season, putting him behind only Ronald Acuna for the major-league lead. The pitch from Urias was a curveball, but McMahon is notably punishing fastballs this season after he had some trouble catching up to heat last year.

After what might be called a Junior slump:

• McMahon wants to be more efficient using his legs, although he says that part of his stance and setup “probably won’t look much different.”

• He has lowered his hands to a level he used while in the Minors.

• These adjustments could eliminate mechanics that practically had McMahon’s back to the pitcher and the bat knob pointed at the umpire at the start of the swing. Those movements slowed the barrel.
