Going into arb eligibility next year, he'd already earned a nice bump in salary.

If arbitration hearings give extra weight to playoff performances, Detwiler just made himself a bunch of money yesterday afternoon.

He's a solid pitcher. Should benefit from the Strasburg affair for now.

Sometimes I wonder if this is the sort of guy who was getting screwed in the anabolic era, not missing enough bats to keep his ERA in the acceptable zone.

Actually amazes me that he could see that big a positive change in LD and GB rate, yet have a worse ERA. I'm guessing almost entirely due to the big decrease in HR/FB??

Not enough of a new stat aficionado to have an idea if any of that is sustainable, but he seems to get it done

And now a days, I love him.

I'm so fickle.

Just hate him. Taking down both of my teams tonight.

hosed by management. Struggling, yes. But the standard seems a bit high, no?

Especially when the alternative is another round of bad Wang jokes, the best involving balls in play.

Worth looking back to Last Season comments.

Slyke: The former #6 overall pick just 4 years ago looks to be a serviceable end of the rotation guy for the Nationals next year.
