why so low, Peter? Do you think Gallo is going to wind up back at first?

This kid looks like a potential slugger who could hit for a high average. I'd be willing to pay $7-8 for Guzman. Unfortunately he'll be kept at $2 and $5 in my leagues.

I'm working on Big Prices for the Guide. Today I have Ronald Guzman with a price of $6. What do you think?

Baseball America obviously doesn't watch the Yankee games.

Ronald Guzman, 1B, Rangers. The Rangers have interesting decisions to make with Guzman. Guzman is 23, so there is plenty of room to still improve. But he's also hit .235/.311/.416 this year as a first baseman, which is not the production one expects from a first baseman. Guzman hit his 15th home run of the season in a 2-for-4 night.

12 homers on the year. Six against the Yankees. Six against the rest of the League.

If he played half his games at Yankee Stadium he'd hit 243 HR.

Then 11, then 12. Bizarrely, John Sterling announced Elvis Andrus was the player of the game.

In a 12 team mixed league, Guzman doesn't look like he'll get the AB you need to roster him. He's behind Gallo on the depth chart, and while Gallo isn't invulnerable, he would seem to have some wiggle room to work through his pathetic batting average.

But if he does get the AB, the $5 threshold is low enough. He could do that easily. If he gets the AB.

Yes, or rather he'll earn a lot more than $5 or he'll be gone soon. He's got the size and the New Ball and his home park working for him. Gotta take a shot in a deep league.
