Bobby Witt (SS) KC - Sep. 22
https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=16040

Witt went 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Twins.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Witt recorded his third straight multi-hit effort, and he's up to a 13-game hitting streak. During that longer span, he's batted .327 (17-for-52) with five doubles, six RBI, eight runs scored and two steals. The 22-year-old rookie has lifted his season slash line up to .254/.294/.439 with 20 home runs, 28 steals, 76 RBI and 77 runs scored in 139 contests. He's seeing regular time at his natural position of shortstop lately.

Bobby Witt (SS) KC - Jul. 23
https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=16040

Witt went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, three RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Rays.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Witt opened the scoring with an RBI double in the third inning, and he added a two-run homer in the eighth to end it. He also stole third in his first trip on base as part of a double-steal with Andrew Benintendi. Witt's been running without much hesitation lately -- he has six steals in his last 10 contests. He's batting .349 (15-for-43) in that span. For the season, the rookie is up to a .256/.299/.457 slash line with 14 homers, 50 RBI, 51 runs scored, 19 steals, 19 doubles and five triples in 90 games.

Snags 12th steal
June 28, 2022
Witt went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base in Monday's 10-4 loss to the Rangers.
ANALYSIS
The rookie is putting the finishing touches on a solid June. Through 24 games on the month, Witt has a .264/.324/.505 slash line with five of his 11 homers and five of his 12 steals, in addition to 14 RBI and 17 runs. While there could be more growing pains ahead, the 22-year-old could also be gearing up for a very big second half.

Why do the KC TV people call him Junior? His dad wasn't that great and he didn't play for KC.

Bobby played short again yesterday.

Bobby Witt (SS) KC - May. 19
https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=16040

Witt went 2-for-4 with a solo home run -- his fourth of the season -- in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the White Sox.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The rookie delivered a modest .558 OPS in April, but he's begun to resemble the elite prospect he was billed as through the Royals' first 17 games of May. Over that three-week stretch, Witt is slashing .233/.292/.517 while providing all four of his home runs this month. He'll hit out of the No. 3 spot for the third game in a row in Thursday's series finale, with his ascension into a prominent spot in the lineup coinciding with Salvador Perez's (thumb) placement on the injured list.

Started at short yesterday, went 0-for-4 with three Ks.

He's back at third today. Played shortstop yesterday in the second game of the double-header. It beats me why they don't play him at short all the time now.

Why not Mondesi at third?

Earns roster spot
April 2, 2022
Witt has won an Opening Day roster spot, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Witt tore through the upper minors last season, hitting .290/.361/.575 with 33 homers and 29 steals split between the two highest levels. He's carried that momentum through to this spring, hitting .407/.448/.741 in 10 Cactus League games. A shortstop by trade, Witt is expected to open the year as the Royals' third baseman, with Adalberto Mondesi occupying his primary position.

Bobby Witt Jr., 3B, Royals: Witt has made every possible argument to be the Royals' Opening Day third baseman. Witt went 2-for-3 on Tuesday and is now hitting .476/.522/.857. He has hits in seven of eight games and has handled all nine chances at third flawlessly.

$16 in Tout.

If I was a Tout Warrior, I'd be tempted to go all rooks. And I'd nominate them early to find out what else I had to spend.

You could win big, which would be a lot of fun. And you could lose big, which no one would notice and you'd still have a lot of fun.
