The 27-year-old improved his season slash line to .263/.333/.449 with 50 extra-base hits and 69 RBI through 513 plate appearances. Arozarena went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Brewers.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Arozarena took Brandon Woodruff yard in the seventh inning to record his 13th homer of the season. It was his first long ball in his last 16 starts, though he still managed a .267 average with eight RBI and three runs scored in that span. For the season, Arozarena has maintained a .256/.316/.422 line with 21 stolen bases across 440 plate appearances.

Positives in 5x5.

Arozarena went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run and a stolen base Wednesday against the Mariners.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Arozarena was hitless but still managed to have a productive performance. He walked to lead off the bottom of the first inning and immediately stole second base -- his second swipe of the campaign -- and came around to score on an infield single by Harold Ramirez. Arozarena has just a .203 average and has yet to homer across 72 plate appearances to begin the season, though his production on the basepaths and nine runs scored are both positives in his stat line.

I agree. As do Peter, Mike and the three demo leaguues.

Randy Arozarena (OF) TB - Apr. 05

Arozarena is hitting .417/.462/.500 with two doubles, three RBI and 2:2 BB:K this spring.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: As exciting a player as Arozarena is with his power-speed combo and flair for the dramatic, last year's 28.1 percent strikeout rate and .222 xBA have had a lot of analysts forecasting a dropoff this season. But he wasn't a whiff machine in the minors, and with just two strikeouts in 26 spring plate appearances, Arozarena has been demonstrating much-improved bat-to-ball skills. If he can carry that forward into the regular season, he could outperform his draft position by a considerable margin. Although he's 27 years old, Arozarena has only one full MLB season under his belt, so it's hardly unreasonable to think that he has some development left in him.

An ebullient Pick by Larry Fine, writing the capsule comment, followed by a somewhat churlish Leibowitz Pan. The complaint? "ROY winner won as an older prospect."
