I've lost JD Martinez.  Starlin Castro went down again.  My team is in 4th place.  I could activate Devers, but even if he matches JD Martinez, I tread water at best.  BTW, I'm only 2 ahead of 5th, 3 ahead of 6th.  Then, before next season I have to decide whether to extend or option Devers based upon 60 games.  Or, I can keep him inactive all year, activate him on opening day for no cost to my auction roster, and extend or option him after 2018.  It's our Super-2 Rule, essentially.  After 2018 I will have a much better idea about whether to keep him for 2, 3, or 4 years.

I get Keuchel back this week and I'm first in pitching.  I've been offered Longoria or Hosmer for Paxton.  I can pull the trigger now or wait until Keuchel's healthy return and make the move next week (provided the other owner doesn't lose Alonso or Hosmer to the NL).

Yes, I could activate Devers and trade for a hitter if I can get the positions to lineup.

I was not planning to be competitive this year.  It makes things a lot more complicated.

Reports are he is getting promoted....more to come.

Still batting 6th for the Pawsox, he hit another HR today.  Now batting 421/476/789 in AAA in 5 games.

Combined season 307/375/588 20 doubles, 20 HR.  The Red Sox missed out on Frazier. They have announced they are in the market for upgrades, but Devers is not available.  It seems that Devers is available for an upgrade, but he won't cost them anything but starting his Major League clock.

Nice profile of Devers by Wayne Cavadi at Sickels's site.

Debut at AAA: 4-4, HR, 2B. Keith Law ranks him 3rd at mid-season.  John Sickels hints that Vlad Guerrero and Acuna are #1 and 2 in his mid-season rankings (list not yet published).

Promoted to AAA.  It does not appear that he was added to the 40-man roster.

Not that I'm rooting for the Red Sox to win the AL East, but what more does he have to prove?  2/5 tonight with a HR, 2 Runs, and 4 RBI.  308/373/597.  19 Doubles, 3 Triples, 18 HR.  The Red Sox third basemen have produced 218/269/329.

I got him (as a farm player) for a $1 Daniel Norris in the offseason. Feeling good about that now.

Another two HR tonight in a 3/4 night.  Still no 3B in Boston.  In Portland, Devers is 298/359/576 with 16 HR and 17 doubles.  Yes, he's only 20, but he might be 21 before the World Series is over.
