What is this NL you speak of?

NL roolz!

Pujols was kept at $46 in our league; he went for that much at auction last season, believe it or not. This year, his owner saw that he had a crummy freeze list and chose to freeze most of his studs at or above inflated value. He had very little money for the draft ($12 for 11 players, IIRC) and plans to flip his studs in May, June, or July for a 2010 run. I'll certainly be talking to him; beyond Adam LaRoche, Cody Ross, and Chipper, I'm lacking in power.

I've been wondering the same all year. We used to have an NL bias. Come out of the woodwork, all you people in the NL!

Is it just me or does this site seem to be becoming highly biased toward discussing AL players? I have been wondering this for a few weeks now.

Don't we all like to think, in similar circumstances, we'd choose the hockey guy's response?

Reminds me of a hockey auction league I was in the early nineties. Wayne Gretzky was brought up and one owner held up the bidding to look him up. When we all gave him grief, the stubborn you-know-what stood his ground and flipped through the pages slower.

To this day, it still comes up every year at our auction. The day lives in infamy...

Reminds me of 2 yrs. ago at our draft.
Pujols' name comes up, and one owner goes to make us wait while he looks up Albert's stats in a magazine.
Another owner, and good friend of his, goes nuts, looks him right in the eye and says, "I won't b.s. you. He's good. He's really good! I promise."
The magazine was dropped in shame.

Screw the dillweed in our league that gets to keep him at $34 or something of that nature. Thank goodness the guy found a way to finish 11th last year.
