Nick Anderson (P) TB - Sep. 10
https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=805738

Manager Kevin Cash announced Friday that Anderson (elbow) is with the team in Detroit and could be activated during the weekend series against the Tigers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Anderson has yet to pitch in a big-league game this season after tearing an elbow ligament during spring training, but the right-hander appears to be on the brink of making his 2021 debut. He's allowed just one earned run on three hits across his last five outings with Triple-A Durham, and given that he's back with the Rays, his next outing figures to come in the majors, possibly as soon as this weekend. Anderson posted an impressive 0.55 ERA and 0.49 WHIP across 16.1 innings during the abbreviated 2020 campaign.

Nick Anderson (P) TB - Sep. 02
https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=803941

Anderson (elbow) has fired two perfect innings over his last two rehab outings for Triple-A Durham, recording three strikeouts.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The right-hander actually has three consecutive flawless efforts overall with the Bulls dating back to Saturday, his best stretch of pitching during his extensive rehab assignment yet. The team's official site notes manager Kevin Cash received an encouraging report from Durham skipper Brady Williams in recent days regarding Anderson, with the reliever's improving velocity particularly standing out to Williams. Given his recent form, Anderson could well be on the cusp of a long-awaited activation.

Nick Anderson (P) TB - Jun. 26

Anderson (elbow) threw off the bullpen mound at Tropicana Field on Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Anderson has been throwing across the last several weeks, but the Rays haven't yet indicated when he could face live hitters or begin a rehab assignment. The right-hander felt good after his second bullpen session Saturday and hopes to return sometime in August, Adam Berry of MLB.comreports.

The word is surgery not necessary, but out until midseason, at best. Diego Castillo gets a boost.

Nineteen teen games isn't that small a sample size. Of all the amazing numbers, perhaps the most notable is the LD%+.

Nick Anderson (P) TB - Feb. 20

Anderson spent most of the offseason in St. Petersburg instead of his native Minneapolis to work out at a new facility with the goal of enhancing mobility and strength, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The right-hander took his normal amount of time off after the Rays' postseason ended, which means he's a bit behind what is his typical spring schedule. Nevertheless, the right-hander has already thrown one bullpen session and is set for another in the coming days as he begins gearing up for the new campaign. After a dominant regular season during which he posted a career-best 0.55 ERA and 0.49 WHIP across 19 appearances, Anderson clearly struggled with fatigue in the postseason while giving up at least one earned run in each of his last seven October appearances.
