Homered to right in the third inning to put the Marlins ahead 1-0, a score that stood until the 8th inning when the Reds tied it with a homer, then took the lead with a homer, going on to win 2-1.

In addition to the three homers, the 11,375 fans (the temperature in Ohio was 68 degrees) witnessed three singles. Batters struck out 22 times.

I should stop whining about it. It is what it is.

Didn't start yesterday but put a nice easy swing on the ball as a pinch hitter and launched a homer that still hasn't come down.

A little bit of an exaggeration but only a little.

He has a good chance at 500+ AB if he stays healthy. Even if he hits .219 again.

Unfortunately for Walker, and for a lot of 30 something league average middle infield types, Walker's 2018 performance on the field pretty much proved that the market was correct in how it judged him last winter.

Marlins signed INF Neil Walker to a one-year contract.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the deal will come with only $2 million in guaranteed money. Walker struggled with the Yankees in 2018, slashing just .219/.309/.354 with 11 home runs and 46 RBI in 113 games. The 33-year-old veteran will presumably be used at multiple positions in Miami, including second base, first base, third base, and possibly some corner outfield. Walker might have some appeal in NL-only fantasy leagues if the Fish find him regular playing time, but he can be ignored in most standard mixed formats.
