The $5 price is much too low if it looks in March like he's the Closer. But if he isn't definitely the Closer, I'd say that maybe it's a buck or two too high given his injury history.

Chicago White Sox — Nate Jones grabbed a save Wednesday, confirming our suspicions that this situation is still fluid. Jones had a great spring, but his truly impressive injury history — which includes Tommy John surgery, an outpatient operation on his back, and surgery to reposition the nerves in his throwing elbow — makes him a risky bet.

Hierarchy remains: *Soria | Jones | Farquhar.
* = closer-by-committee

Nate Jones (P) CHI-A - Feb. 13

Jones (elbow) said Tuesday he feels great and expects to make the Opening Day roster,
James Fegan of The Athletic Chicago reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: As expected, Jones is throwing at spring training. He hasn't been seen throwing off a mound at the White Sox's facility in Arizona, but it does seem as if he's on the right track in his recovery from July surgery. If he is fully
healthy heading into the regular season, look for Jones to act as one of the top
relievers in Chicago's bullpen while potentially jockeying for saves by the season's
conclusion.

A popular fantasy choice to become the White Sox closer when the team inevitably dealt David Robertson last year, Jones's season ended in April (well before Robertson was dealt) with a nerve issue in his elbow. He had surgery in July after rehabbing failed and is expected to be right for the start of spring training, if everything went right.

Nate Jones (P) CHI-A - Jan. 10

Jones (elbow) has been throwing as part of his rehabilitation and is expected to
be ready for spring training, Scott Merkin of the White Sox's official site reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Jones underwent nerve re-positioning surgery on his right elbow in July 2017, shutting down his season after just 11 appearances. If the right-hander with a 9.9 K/9 is healthy, Jones is expected to pitch in high-leverage situations and could eventually emerge with a significant number of save chances. Manager Rick Renteria doesn't have a clear-cut closer, but there are a few late-inning options on the staff, including former closer Joakim Soria. We don't see Renteria having Jones closing immediately, but it's not far-fetched he gets save chances as the
soon-to-be 32-year-old proves the elbow is stable.
