Miguel Rojas (SS) MIA - Oct. 28
https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=811305

Rojas underwent an MRI on his left index finger Thursday and could require surgery, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Rojas signed a two-year, $10 million extension earlier in the week, but the news isn't all positive about the veteran shortstop. It's not yet clear exactly what's wrong with his finger, nor is it clear whether any potential procedure could cause him to miss time at the start of next season.

Because the big money won't be going to 34 year old shortstops regardless, is probably what Rojas is thinking.

Plus maybe he just bought a place in Miami.  Beats being a one year free agent stopgap in Baltimore or Pittsburgh.

Gets extended through 2023.

I sort of think these extensions are weird. Both sides have to be making assumptions about the new deal when they sign someone. And wouldn't they have to be making opposite assumptions to get a deal done? If you think the money is going to be much bigger in the new deal, why would you sign this deal as a player?
