I bet Trout's not far behind in breaking into that 4some.

Rickey's overall 72.2 BR WAR with Oakland would put him well behind Chipper's 85.4, but I don't see him on the chart at all (though it's hard to actually tell who is on or of). Unusually bad infographics by the Times.

Brett, Ripken, Pujols, Chipper.

I don't know if they counted Rickey's multiple stints, or just the first one. That would be interesting.

Rickey Henderson had so many stints with the A's I think he's probably on the list.

Ken Griffey Jr. b/c he earned almost his entire career value with the Mariners.

Cal Ripken Jr.

Frank Thomas is my next guess as an alternate.

Terrific story about Mike Schmidt and Tony Lucadello, the scout how signed the drafted player who has brought the most WAR to the team that drafted him.

Spoiler Alert: Lucadello killed himself, supposedly because he was despondent about the state of the game, in 1989.

Challenge: Who are the next four with the most WAR? And don't overthink it.
