Wow...very surprised he only went for $2. That is a nice buy.

Doubt I will be so lucky to grab him for that in our league, Mike.

Dropped to $2 in the CBS Sportsline expert auction. A nice endgame buy of a player who should be the starter all year long.

The play in the American League might be to bring him up early and sneakily shift him over to 1B later. In what used to be called Appendix A (or was it B, Alex?), you'll see in the software the 1B was a weaker position in the A.L. last year than 3B.

One thing to watch with Lamb is how he does against lefties. A 299 OBP from 2005-2007 doesn't bode well for that BA to stay up near .290.

More than a couple; I've just moved Lamb from the free-agent pen and given him an $8 raise. In all likelihood, I won't have to go anywhere near this bid limit, though, because he's going to come up late in the auction when money's getting tight.

Another idea is to nominate him early, catch everyone by surprise. For $8 or so, I will be very happy to have him in the fold.

I have owned Lamb the last two years in my NL 4x4 at $1, and needless to say, I was pleased with the profits. Lamb could always hit, and now he has the chance to be an everyday 3B and get 450 AB's. I just don't see him going for $3 in my AL 4x4 league...if I can get him at that price I will be ecstatic. I think that bid needs to move up a couple ticks.

Turned out to be the Twins. A nice pickup, I agree. Notably didn't show a platoon split last year (or in 2004 either).
