Rotoworld:

08.13: Mike Clevinger picked up his fourth victory of the season on Friday evening, limiting the Nationals to just one run on three hits over five frames. (The
right-hander also issued four free passes while striking out three on
the night. Despite the base runners against him, the only actual damage
came on an RBI ground out by Nelson Cruz in Clevinger's final inning of
work. He got eight swings and misses on 94 pitches in the game, posting a
CSW of 27 percent.)

Mike Clevinger (P) SD - Jul. 05
https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=12784

Clevinger (2-1) was charged with the loss Tuesday versus the Mariners after surrendering four runs on six hits with five strikeouts and two walks across six innings.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Clevinger allowed only a solo homer to Sam Haggerty through the first three frames, but Seattle struck for three runs on three hits and a walk during the fourth inning. It was the first time through eight outings this year the right-hander gave up more than three runs in an appearance, though he was still able to keep the Friars within striking distance. Clevinger has a 3.34 ERA and 1.14 WHIP for the year and tentatively lines up to take the mound early next week in Colorado.

June 10: Clevinger scratched from start
Late Friday night, right-hander Mike Clevinger was scratched from his scheduled start on Saturday against the Rockies as he deals with an illness, the team said.

Clevinger was slated to start the first game of the team’s scheduled doubleheader against Colorado, with MacKenzie Gore getting the ball in Game 2. Gore will remain in line to start the nightcap, but the Padres have moved Nick Martinez into Clevinger’s spot. Martinez was slated to start Sunday.

Rotoworld:

04.27: Mike Clevinger (knee) allowed one run over 3 2/3 innings in his thirdminor league rehab start Wednesday with Triple-A El Paso. (Clevinger scattered four hits and a walk while striking out five in the 67-pitch outing. Of those 67 pitches, 45 went for strikes. The 31-year-old right-hander was placed on the injured list just before Opening Day because of a knee sprain, but he's on the fast track now and should be ready to join the Padres' rotation sometime in early May. There might be one final rehab start coming next week.)

Good stuff and thanks for sharing. I have at least four shares in Clevinger and the sooner he returns the better!

When I asked at madfriars.com about why Clev only went 3 IPs in a rehab start yesterday, when it was said prior that he'd go 4 ... I got this reply from a trusted source ...

A windblown ball that was just between infielders on the fringe of the outfield grass fell in for a double and caused Clevinger to have to throw several more pitches in the first inning.  That situation, plus the fact that the home plate umpire missed several pitches that had late movement and were right over the heart of the plate made his 3 inning stint the equivalent of 4.  Playing conditions were bad, very windy, but it seemed Clevinger had no issue with his right knee.  Got up to 94-95 mph with his fastball.  It seems he is ready to join the team, probably on the road trip, so he can face Cincinnati or Pittsburgh before the 1 May roster reduction.

Clevinger (knee) will make a rehab start with Low-A Lake Elsinore on Thursday.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Clevinger is on the injured list to begin the season due to soreness in his right knee, but he'll make his first rehab start Thursday in the lower minors. The 31-year-old missed the 2021 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery he underwent in November 2020, and he didn't have any arm issues while ramping up during spring training. Clevinger made only one Cactus League start before the knee issue cropped up, so he could require more than one rehab start before being cleared to join the big-league rotation.
