The factoid of the night, as he moved to 10-0: the most games with at least 6 Ks at the start of the season since Pedro Martinez in -- who knows?

Sometimes Elias tried too hard.

10-0 in any stretch: that's impressive.

Inflation, Alex, will be 35% to start. One team had better, and by that I mean killer, freeze list. SP available will be Verlander, CC, Lester, Scherzer, Morrow, Dickey (not that all are studs). By my calculations, other team has nearly 100 bucks of profits and is holding VMart, Trumbo, Kipnis, Middlebrook,Joey Bats, Reddick, Yu, Ogando and Rodney. I have by conservative calcs, 60 bucks profits and the freezes below. But for that at least one other league owner posts here I would comment on which way I plan to set sail (noting that if the wind shifts, a ton of tacking will ensue). Thanks for the comments.

I don't like Scherzer at that price compared to CC. I find pitchers like Scherzer and Morrow who have high K/9 but have never really had great seasons in ERA and Ratio to be overpriced.

How bad is the inflation? How pronounced is the starting pitcher scarcity? How does your freeze list compare to other freeze lists? Those are the critical questions.

If the answers are very bad, very pronounced and one of the best, and you like Scherzer as much as CC, put CC into play first, and watch the inflation start to disappear fast. Then buy Scherzer. Or Lester.

I agree with Slyke that you want another SP stud.

I would choose choices B or C, Noah.

I like CC and Lester at those prices. I love Scherzer's upside, but that defense scares me, and want a surer thing.

Based on your hitting keeps, I would rather grab another stud SP at those prices, then focus on filling in your hitting. There are always hitting bargains in the end game, pal.

If you (any of you) had Sale, Moore and Hellickson (for combined 32) in 11 team AL only, and 116 to spend, would you (a) pay 24 for Scherzer or (b) pay 24 for Sabathia, or (c) not pay that much for either one and hope Lester falls to 22? Or, just keep buying hitting to supplement Hosmer, Zobrist, Andrus, Moose, Trout, Cespedes?
