. . . and he's personally keeping us afloat.

Don't let Hoskins fans know about this guy in the AL doing essentially the same thing since his recall.

I've got him for $8.  Traded Andrew Heaney for him just before Heaney came back for his first start.  Olson has gone off since.  I was worried that Heaney was a potential keeper, but needed hitting and was wary of the endowment effect.  Turns out Olson has made himself a serious contender and that's on a roster stocked with keepers well above my limit.

I get to keep 5 major leaguers and 2 players on minor league contracts, or more minor leaguers at the expense of major leaguers.  I will be shopping for a deal in the off season.  Right now, my options are:

1 Devers (minors)

2 Barreto (minors)

3 Adames (minors)

4 Keuchel $19

5 Marwin Gonzalez $4

6 Faria $5

7 Olson $8

----

8 Giolito $5 (every time Gio pitches I want to keep him more and more)

9 Mazara $10 (I really want to keep him b/c I feel a breakout coming in year 3)

If I can't make a deal or two, I'm going to have some really tough choices and I may be forced to throw back Adames, who may be the #6 or 7 prospect in the AL.

He looks like a keep at that price, TMU2009.

Nice FAAB play on your part.

In our league, we FAAB'd him, and he's keepable in 2018 . . . but at $15.   Only 23.

Cracked a bases-empty homer in the second, knocked in another run with a single in the big 8th-inning rally.

Here's another 10 HR coming our way for sure.

Feasted on the Orioles this weekend with 3 HR in the three games he played.  I'm sold. Just traded Andrew Heaney for him.

I keep adding hitters through trade and FAAB, but losing hitting points.  The only reason I'm in the hunt for 3rd (6th place, 6.5 out of 3rd, 3.5 out of 4th) is despite trading pitchers I keep maintaining my 49 point pitching staff.

Jim Palmer said that Bob Melvin was raving about Olson's defense at 1B.

Appears to be handed the job at 1B for now.  I saw these reports, but I was wondering if they were going to put Healy at 1B and bring up Renato Nunez to DH.

Olson is 272/367/568 in AAA with 23 HR + 4 HR in the majors

Nunez is 256/317/551 in AAA with 30 HR

They are the same age.  Olson has always been rated as a higher prospect.

Franklin Barreto, Matt Olson and Jaycob Brugman became just the second set of teammates in major league history to all hit their first career homers <http://www.espn.com/blog/statsinfo/post/_/id/132563/athletics-make-a-three-for-one-move-on-a-homer-happy-day>  in the same game. The feat had not been achieved since 1914 by the Kansas City Packers of the Federal League.
