In one of my leagues we have both an offseason and mid-season minor league draft. The mid-season starts today, though what typically happens is managers only have a slot or two tops for it, so some of those FYPD players get picked up in the offseason. I have a couple of slots after having to call up a few players already this season.

I've only watched the first round of the draft for about four years now. But I guess because of all the media I've been hearing about TJS on not only MLB Network but also on sites like this, this year's first round made those early "gambles" on TJS pitchers from teams more... I guess "bold" is the word I'm looking for. Ok, perhaps not; first-round picks don't guarantee MLB talent for the future.

Lots of NL teams taking college players. That makes me happy.

MLB Draft starts tonight.

For Ottoneu leagues which have perpetual minor league free agency during the season, the draft will unleash a new hoard of players for people to go after. Kris Bryant was long gone in Ottoneu last year before I ever got around to looking to see which college hitters and pitchers had gone high.
