madfriars.com sez ... In the two games played on the holiday, Luis Urías went a combined 3-for-5, with three walks and a stolen base. Over his last 10 games, Urias is hitting .400/.543/.543, with 10 walks and only five strikeouts. In that 10-game span, Urías’s 10.9% K is better than his mark for the 2017 campaign in Double-A. It’s clear that Urías has made an adjustment since being demoted.

madfriars.com sez ... In 102 plate appearances, he is hitting .367/.441/.844 and 20 of his 33 hits have gone for extra-bases. Urias trails only Astros slugging prospect Yordan Alvarez in slugging and OPS, and holds a slight – and completely improbable – edge in IsoP.

Luis Urias, 2B, Padres. While not known as a power hitter, Urias blasted the first three-home run game of his career and of Triple-A El Paso’s franchise history. The Padres’ No. 3 prospect drove in six runs and walked twice. Urias is a plus hitter who can play an above-average defensive second base for the Padres.
