After Luis dominated the D'backs in their snakepit over 6.2 scoreless innings for his first major league victory, his manager was impressed. "When you can create a separation like that of 8 or 10 miles an hour, 12 or 13 miles an hour with the breaking pitch, and you throw them all for strikes ... the hitter had to react to the breaking ball somewhat and respect the velocity inside," said Bryan Price. "More than anything, he exudes a confidence out there."

His G/L/F after fours starts is 57/7/36.

The kid's walk rate is alarming but his strikeout rate is excellent. So far, so good for a rookie straight from Double-A. They say Castillo was consistently hitting triple digits the last time out when he struck out 9 in 5 2/3 innings while walking 3. Probably going to be some ups and downs with him, but he's worth a roll if you're looking for an SP.
