There's no closer job for Farnsworth in Tampa ... but he's definitely finding his stride. After a 9.00 over his first 6 outings, Farnsworth has strung together a 11-game streak with a 0.84 ERA (1 ER in 10.2 IP).

He's a FA this winter.

I couldn't imagine they'd change Rodney's role given his success this year.

He is coming back but will he slot into the setup role? Most likely.

Walter, I like Perkins and de los Santos at those prices at lot, particularly in a keeper league.

A vulture win is more like it.

As for all the closer uncertainty, the question as always is how big were the bets? Robertson, I believe, was $9. That's a lot for any set-up guy, no matter how good, but he can easily earn that as the setup guy. And then there's next year.

I nominated him early, hoping for a bloodbath, and was sorely disappointed.

For all the obvious reasons about closer uncertainty this year, I went into the draft in the American Dreams League (with Alex and Peter K) converted to idea of not buying a closer unless the price was ludicrously low. I picked up a few long-shot backup closers (Glen Perkins, Fautino De Los Santos, Tom Wilhelmsen and Koji Uehara) for no more than $3 each. No guarantees on any of these guys, but I am planing to allocate my entire free-agent budget to finding Saves. It seems a more sensible approach than spending $20 for the likes of Sergio Santos or Joe Nathan, let alone Farnsworth or Braxton or Aceves.
