Joe Poz, comparing Verlander and Cole (he calls them Colander) at The Athletic:

Verlander has a lead in Baseball-Reference WAR because he has allowed fewer unearned runs, Cole has a lead in FanGraphs WAR because he strikes out more and allows fewer home runs.

So now we know.

Interesting analysis from 538 about 2019 starting pitchers currently outperforming relievers in ERA for the first time since 1973...

I totally agree, Alex. It's about time the players started stating the obvious. Manfred deserves everything he gets. I strongly believe he's more concerned with his need to establish his personal legacy, than he is with doing what's best for the game.

Hats off to Justin Verlander. This can't be the All-Star conversation that Manfred wanted to have.

When  we get today's stat feed, his BABIP will be even lower. Three more gophers last night. Robin Roberts territory.

Ron Darling today on Verlander: "I'm so jealous of his career. It's like a Ponce de Leon career."

I know the career hitter leader....

Very consistent.  Some might say, steady.
