It looks okay in retrospect.  Won the series and now the Astros have a few days rest before the ALCS.  At worst it looks like Keuchel will go game 1 and Verlander game 2 on regular rest.  I was really confused about the Astros rotation after those two during the Divisional Series.  I wonder if they will add McHugh to the roster.  McCullers has not looked good in months.

I have a feeling Hinch is going to regret bringing in Verlander in the 5th in this game.

Gave the Astros exactly what they were looking for last night when they acquired him after they had already won the division (essentially): a professional effort in the first playoff game.

Vintage Chris Sale would have beaten him, but that's not what the Red Sox got.

Vintage Verlander in his first three starts with the Astros, as the Astros clinch the AL West after his 7 inning, 10K performance today.

An Indians/Astros ALCS will be intense, if it plays out that way.

So much for the trade deadline!

Think of the moans in AL- and NL- onlies if these megaplayers were changing leagues.

To the Astros in the eleven and a half hour.

In 76 fewer IP, Verlander has already walked 6 more men than he did last year. Yikes!

This is what killed Baseball Tonight (and is killing ESPN). While I was waiting for my car to be fixed yesterday, I flipped open my computer and watched a terrific baseball game in real time.

It was 1-1 after seven. When I got home, I watched the last two innings in the condensed game.

My hitters went 0-for-8.

Verlander meanwhile (Iwakuma thread) just pumped a fastball in at 99 to Nelson Cruz.

Nothing-nothing in the sixth.

The Mariners announcers are perfect for a lovely April afternoon.
