Josh Bell (1B) PIT - Sep. 17

Bell went 5-for-8 split between two games of a doubleheader Saturday against the
Reds.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Bell is batting .326/.429/.488 in 86 at-bats and has played
19 games in the outfield and seven at first base. His defense has come as advertised
-- below average -- but it hasn't been so bad as to put his major league future
in jeopardy.

Wow, an 8 run inning. I didn't realize that the Reds had sent Hoover down.

Newsmakers from Friday's action:

Josh Bell, 1b, Pirates. Pittsburgh’s No. 3 prospect became the first player to hit for the cycle in the International League this season, hitting a triple in his final at-bat to complete the deed Friday. Bell got on base five times. He singled in the first to drive in a run, doubled to lead off the third and then hit a grand slam to cap that eight-run inning as Triple-A Indianapolis routed host Louisville (Reds) 13-1. The switch-hitter has a smooth swing and so far has better tapped into his power at Triple-A with three homers in 48 at-bats. The defense is a work in progress as he transitions to first and gets comfortable with the bigger mitt.
