Peter claimed him in the September draft in the XFL on Sunday night (with the 7th pick). I thought, "Siri? Are you serious?" then looked him up. With money to spare (Peter was almost tapped out), I claimed him in the ADL on Monday.

Baseball America:

Jose Siri, OF, Triple-A Sugar Land (Astros) — Siri has been around for a while, but he only recently turned 26 and is having his best season. The Dominican center fielder went 3-for-6 with a double and two runs scored in Triple-A Sugar Land’s 8-7 loss to El Paso on Monday. He now has a hit in six of his last seven games and upped his slash line to 308/.361/.515 on the season. While that performance has come playing in the Triple-A West, Sugar Land is actually an extreme pitcher’s park, lending some credibility to Siri’s numbers.

With the wind blowing in from right field at 8 miles per hour over The Ballpark at Palm Beach, the home team managed only one homer (by Siri in the eighth inning, a solo shot off Gallegos) but totaled 14 runs to none for the visiting Cardinals. The sky was clear, the temperature 70 degrees -- perfect weather for any of the 1,421 lucky souls who watched to go to the beach afterwards if they were so inclined. I know I would have.
