It's only in Anaheim that they're expected to be Angels. In San Diego, though, they are expected to be Priests. Keep your young sons away from that roster...

And it's not like they were drinking on the days they started (although, in Lackey's case, that might have helped)....why we insist ballplayers be angels is beyond me.

In most softball leagues, you'd get penalized for not drinking during the game.

Good response. On the flip side, this isn't Major League Softball.

Lester's response?

"To be honest, we were doing the same things all season when we had the best record in baseball."

Great answer. And lots of props for answering the phone.

Am I surprised that Beckett and Lackey have been identified as two of the starting pitchers who made a habit of drinking beer, eating fried chicken and playing video games in the clubhouse while their teammates were out on the field?

Not at all. I mean, if it happened -- and it seems generally accepted that it did happen -- these were the leading candidates.

Quite surprised that Lester, apparently, made it a threesome.

Correct that. Baltimore. Even closer.

What conclusion do we draw from the fact that 22,123 (45.9 percent of capacity) were at the game last night?

Precious few Red Sox fans traveled to Florida.

Number of panicked Tweets about Rays > number of panicked Tweets about Red Sox. Though this probably says more about who I have on my Twitter feed than it does about anything else.

It's panic mode in New England. Carmona shut the Red Sox down today. Lester shut down the Indians, but that seems like a far less formidable task.
