Wow, Seadogs, I couldn't disagree more on Kelly. He is a coward and an a-hole for throwing at the Astros. He wasn't even motivated by a desire to support his Dodgers teammates (Kelly was on the Red Sox in 2017), but rather because he feels like the Astros' players "snitched" on his friend Alex Cora. So basically he is mad that Cora was punished and Bregman and Correa weren't. In his mind they were all cheaters but Cora is his buddy so he gets a pass while Kelly chooses to endanger the careers of the other two by throwing at their heads! Total BS.
I have always believed that pitchers who intentionally throw at a batters head should be removed from the field in handcuffs by local police and charged with assault. A batter that charged the mound and hit a pitcher with his bat would be treated that way, no? So why do pitchers get a pass? Book 'em, Dano!

Glad he got a world series ring. Would have liked to see him get to throw at the Astros again though.

gets the ugly save in Game 2 of the NLDS. Two walks then a weak ground out.

How many will he hit?
Thu, Sep 3 - Joe Kelly (shoulder) will face live hitters over the weekend.
Kelly is working his way back from right shoulder inflammation that has
kept him from pitching since August 10. It sounds like he should be
able to return in the next week or so, but keep in mind that Kelly will
then have to serve a five-game suspension for throwing at Alex Bregman
back in July.

Manfred warned everyone that there would be repercussions. Joe Kelly chose to not believe him. Joe Kelly got what he deserved for being stupid. Had a punch been thrown, I'd be willing to bet the suspensions would have been at least 30 games, maybe the balance of the season.

Exactly, BeanCounter.
Twitter is on fire. Best suggestion. Have Kelly appeal the decision. Start Joe Kelly tonight.

So, you can cheat, win a World Series & get no punishment. If you retaliate, you get suspended for 13% of the season.
Jul 29 '20
Unlikely it's finished. If Verlander were playing, you know he'd retaliate. I wonder if any Astro will?
Jul 29 '20
I think he finished it rather than started it :-)

Joe Kelly, who wasn't on the Dodgers during the WS against the Astros, who also was on the Red Sox when they were engaged in sign stealing, is really the worst possible Dodger to start trouble.
