Wed, Sep 16 - Yankees transferred LHP James Paxton to the 45-day injured list.

Paxton is now officially done for the season following a setback with
his left flexor earlier this month. The left-hander will be a free agent
this winter.  (Rotoworld.com)

Who won the most AL games from July 24 on last year? Paxton, with 10, followed by Verlander, Clevinger and Cole, with 9 each.

James Wagner in the Times today:

In recent days, Yankees officials have rushed to adapt their workouts, and Yankee Stadium itself, to the new health and safety requirements. The Yankees’ first choice for a second camp was their sprawling spring training facilities in Tampa, but as the virus surged in Florida they decided to return to their home stadium.

It will be unlike any preseason camp they have experienced. To follow social distancing rules, Cashman said players and staff at Yankee Stadium will spread out between the home, visiting and auxiliary clubhouses. Both the home and visiting bullpens and batting cages will be used. Pitchers may even use the stadium’s concourses to play catch, and training tables might be set up in open areas for better ventilation.

You're right about that. An important distinction. Mixed Draft was about 10 days before those of us in the seriously endangered states locked down. At that point none of us were thinking about this.

I'll argue we should redo it. If baseball shows at least two breaths of life this summer.

Excepting the On-line Mixed Draft. I'm totally fine with either option, but one would think that doing Industry type drafts would help in generating interest in our game at a time when it surely wouldn't hurt to do just that.

As far as Expert League auctions go, Tout Wars knew the season was delayed when we drafted and some recovery time for injured guys is built into the prices already. Probably not as much as they would be today, but for the most part we knew what the issues were then. Paxton went for $14 in Tout AL. That seems about right.

I believe this is the tack we're taking in the ADL. The proposal that seems to have the most juice came from Alex, who suggested we let those who want to play in 2020 have their own startup draft at their own stakes, and then we start 2021 with our 2019 carryover rosters and the keepers we choose to keep. Never thought to ask onRoto how we could do that, but my guess is we'll be able to.

I would think it would be in the best interest of the various stat services to host expert leagues as an inducement to get home leagues on board with remote auctioning for 2020 if not also beyond.  I see from OnRoto that it has been fielding questions from leagues that are ready to throw in the towel on this season and just roll their leagues over for '21.

If there's any kind of baseball season, I hope the experts leagues will hold all-new auctions. It will be interesting to compare the prices fro players like Paxton.
