nice finish to the first half:

10 K's/2 BB's/ 1 ER in 6 IP for win # 10.

Did anyone see him pushing 200 K's this year??

The only thing not to like is the homers; he's giving up a few more flyballs this year and a much higher percentage of them are clearing the fence. That could normalize. Of the 14 pitchers who have won nine games at the halfway point, I'd say Nova has as good a chance as anyone to win 20.

The fourteen, in the order that they are listed on the stats page, with what they have earned in 4x4:

Johnny Cueto $17
Matt Cain $20
CC Sabathia $10
Tommy Hanson $6
CJ Wilson $17
Jered Weaver $21
Stephen Strasburg $15
Justin Verlander $24
Chris Capuano $15
Zack Greinke $12
Wade Miley $15
AJ Burnett $6
Phil Hughes $6
Ivan Nova $5

Whoever would have thought Capuano, with the same number of wins, pitching in the same league, would have earned $3 more than Greinke? It's why we keep score.

I should point out again that the values for both leagues are a little bit inflated, because they are being generated by the 2011 formulas.

His improved K/BB rate has really made him a good pitcher instead of a lucky pitcher. If anything, he's been a bit unlucky this year. I'm changing my tune on Nova. He may be better than advertised.

A rare Tough Lost Win for Nova last night. Allowed only one run and left with a two-run lead in the 8th.

The Yankees win most of his no-decisions. Even with the loss last night, they've won 12 times in his 15 starts.

I'd be curious to know if anyone else has ever started their career with 25 wins, a .750+ win%, and a 4+ ERA.

If someone told me the series between the Yankees and Nationals would be a sweep, I wouldn't have picked the Yankees.

Yielded two moon shots to Jones and Wieters in the first inning. Five ER in 4 IP.
