Signed with the Padres for two years, $8 million.
He earned $11 million last year. But I doubt he's complaining.

The Patriots have not helped the fan base's congeniality either.

I was in Delaware the Saturday evening of "Buckner" and the New England contingent of the wedding I had just finished bartending had migrated to the hotel bar to watch the end of the game. I was floored to to see this crowd reduced to tears about the way things turned out, even though the series was not yet over. I naturally pulled for the Sawx thereafter but the fan base clearly did become obnoxious when they finally ended the curse of the Bambino.

Very different. But the game is over if Kinsler makes the throw, and it's probably still over if, after stumbling, he holds the ball.
If the Red Sox win, the Series is as good as over.
I'm glad it isn't, but that's just me, rooting for the National League. And drama. Baseball needs drama, which it had plenty of last night.

Nah. The context is too different. Remember, now they're the highest payroll in the most obnoxious city with 3 WS wins in the last 14 years.
If you were in New England the day after Buckner, you'll recall it was apocalyptic.

His play ranks right up there with Buckner's if the Red Sox don't win.

Not his best game. Holt should be playing second.

Beantown bound.
40 minutes to go. All across this once-great land, owners in AL-onlies with the most money are praying the Nationals, the 52-53 Nationals, are working out a deal with the Cleveland Indians.
Me, I think It's going to be the Yankees.

I bought low yesterday. Forsythe & Corbin for Kinsler & Doolittle. Probably over-reacting to velocity-loss concerns over Corbin. Seems too many in my league read the same reports. Makes me think that it may have been better for me to Ying while everyone else Yang'ed.
