Ramirez is without a doubt more valuable on our field than on the grass. He is among the worst outfielders I ever have seen. Just a whirling mistake about to happen on each play. Don't know why. He has speed. He can see and has hand eye coordination, proved in the batter's box, where he swings at and makes contact with balls in and out of the zone. At times in 2021 he appeared to be the second best hitter in the Indians lineup. Then, he took the field, or better said that the field took him.

On a team that seriously needs two corner outfielders, that's why he is now not a Guardian.

Ends up with the Cubs in exchange for cash. An interesting name. He's not going to earn you 30, but he could earn you $10 if he is the 4th OF or the NL adds a DH.

Three hits, two runs in win
July 11, 2021
Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Saturday's 14-6 win over Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
The outfielder seemed refreshed at the plate after getting a day off Friday. He entered Saturday's contest hitting just .214 (6-for-28) through eight games in July.

Harold Ramirez was a nice pickup by the Indians over the winter. Need to change info from Miami to Cleveland.

Up only this week (from taxi squad), he should stay for a while. Not a power guy, but his contact bat belongs in this lineup. So far Francona has placed him 5th and he has responded well. (Defense, eh)

BP (subscription) said today:

Just like we all thought—by early May, Ramírez would win the starting center-field job in Cleveland. He won’t offer a ton by way of power, but the 26-year-old makes a ton of contact and should be a resource in batting average and possibly run production stats if Cleveland’s offense ever decides to, like, be decent.

"Just like we all thought" was a bit of humor. Someone may have thought it -- clearly Harold Ramirez has some talent -- but most of us had little idea how it would sort out. Still don't, but Cleveland currently needs this Ramirez (check Miami stats from 2019) in the lineup.
