"Cleanup hitter Gio Urshela hit a home run for the first place Yankees off David Price" is not a sentence any of us would have imagined reading back in March.

What a way to take over first.

100 PAs is just 100 PAs.  I don't see any other .392 BABIPs on this scan.

I think that with Urshela, they thought "damn, that's an impressive glove..."

And if anyone ever needed a late inning defensive backup ... it's Andujar.

That he's been hitting is just icing.

As for Voit - dude had demonstrated that he could hit in the minors ... Cards decided to deal him anyway.

Voit, now Urshela... What does the Yankees brain trust see that others are missing?

When/if Andujar is healthy, there's no way he reclaims the third base job.

For his fifth AB... doubles to right with the bases loaded in ninth. He hits the ball where it's pitched. When he hits it.

Two years ago the offense starved Indians had both Urshela and Yandy Diaz on their AAA shuttle.  And, three years ago.  And, four.

Just K'd for the fourth time.

Michael Kay in the top of the first, ushering in the next batter: "Gio Urshela... has ascended to the number three spot in the Yankee order."

Who would have thunk?
