Just when it was looking like his SB flurry would pull him back over the 2-1 SB/HR ratio ... 3 HR in 3 games, all on the road ...

Of course, 3 HR does nothing for my team, while 3 SB would net us 2 points!

Might be NL MVP (hitter) over the past 3 weeks.

Trash time stats?

Since August 24, he's hit .342 with a .395 OBP, 4 HR, and 8 steals (to 0 CS).  With a high (.375) but not crazy high BABIP, and a 19% K rate.

If he'd started off the year doing that, he'd have made the All Star team...

His .400+ BABIP in September is likely not an indicator of future performance - but it's given him a chance to get on base and start running finally.  His 2 steals now give him 5 in 12 games started this month.

Did not expect less than a 2-1 ratio of steals to HR.

2-for-4 with a stolen base today, raising his batting average over the Mendoza line and increasing his chances that he'll play tomorrow.

0-for-4 yesterday with two more Ks.

The Oracles are having such a bad year in the PCL that even the players we tried to trade for are lousy.

Was at the Rockies game Tuesday night. Hampson looks a lot littler than 5'11. He also looked confused and not right as he struggled with pitch recognition and making contact, which perhaps explains why he has yet to take a walk. I'll make no claim that he won't get right, this could be a slump, a failed overcompensation for some mental doubt, or an indication of true talent, but I will point out that a .314 BA at Albuquerque, as he had last year, translates to about a .250 ML average. The speed is real of course, but his bat is not a slam dunk thing, and the Rockies are floundering.

I find 30 ABs not enough to know very much.

Has looked pretty underwhelming so far - his K rate exploding, taking no walks, and 66% of his batted balls haven't left the infield (40% ground ball, 50% infield fly ball %).

And despite that speed, no infield base hits yet.

The combo of injuries to McMahon and Murphy will guarantee he gets more major league PT to turn it around, but he's setting himself up to disappoint those people anticipating 30+ SBs.
