A very cheap 2020 option for the Reds if they want to pick it up ... and playing full time for Cinci he'll easily crack 20 HR.

My observation about Galvis. The Phillies fans loved him. Played hard, with good skills. Not a star star, but solid.

The modern baseball take? Not great power for his OBP, and not a great OBP. So, what's he good for?

Umm, Good defense? With offense?

In any case, Galvis is exactly the sort of talented player who evolves out of the majors as they hit 30 or so. But there aren't many of those I've seen who excited crowds the way Freddy did.

Kind of weird to be waived on your way to a career year.

Claimed off of waivers by the Reds. My guess, and purely a guess, is that the Jays call up Rowdy Tellez, who has been tearing it up at Buffalo.

Fireworks on Canada Day. Freddy just launched one 409 feet into the center field seats in the Rogers Centre following Teoscar's 407-foot shot into the seats in left.

Sparkman is lighting the spark. Score 7-zip after two.

Signed a one-year deal with the Blue Jays. He'll keep the position warm for Bo Bichette.
